Rimmed Soap….my worst soaping fear until I signed up for this challenge.
Thank you Tatsiana and Amy for helping me face it. My first attempt went so smooth that I had to make 2 more, it was so addicting. I actually made 3 more but I messed up slicing one of the rims so I won’t count that one. Here are my first and second attempts:
But because I am a sucker for vibrant colors I wanted to make a more colorful one. So I chose magenta, neon green, neon yellow, and neon orange….oh so 80’s. And I split the soap batter in four squeeze bottles.
The next pictures are of sequences of pouring:
The soap went in the oven at 170 F for one hour and about 15 minutes. After I turned the heat off I let the soap inside the oven for another 3 hours. I didn’t leave any of my rims for longer than 4 hours and I had no problems rolling them up. It was the shaving/slicing that gave me a hard time.
The soap I poured inside the mold was scented with Sass & Class and colored with neon(ish) purple.
